Professor Lakshman Dissanayake has been ranked as #1 in Sri Lanka among the Materials Engineering category.

Professor M.A.K.L Dissanayake, Research Professor in Condensed Matter Physics and Solid State Chemistry at the NIFS has been ranked the best scientist in Material Engineering (Polymer electrolytes/| dye-sensitized solar cells /solid-state batteries /Nanostructured materials) in Sri Lanka by the AD Scientific Index 2023.

AD Scientific Index analyzes academic studies from 218 countries, 21911 universities/institutions, and 1,355,332 scientists by using the H index, i10 index, and citation count criteria to present results to be used for the evaluation of productivity and efficiency by individuals and institutions.
