Prof. Dr. Benjin Luo and Ms. Yucheng Hang Visit National Institute of Fundamental Studies

Prof. Dr. Benjin Luo, Member of the Managing Board and Chief Expert at the National Innovation Center par Excellence (NICE) and the Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute (JITRI), alongside Ms. Yucheng Hang, a key member of NICE and the Secretariat of the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations (WAITRO), visited the National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS) on November 12, 2025.

Prof. Dr. Luo, a renowned expert with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, and a distinguished career at Robert Bosch GmbH, brought his vast experience in product engineering, system design, and industrial technology to the discussions. He currently leads innovation and technology strategy at NICE and JITRI.

Ms. Hang, who holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from Duke University, specializes in data science, innovation strategy, and international collaboration. She has played an instrumental role at NICE in fostering global partnerships with universities, research institutes, and industry leaders across Europe and South America. She also contributes to strengthening WAITRO's network and advancing international research collaborations.

During the visit, discussions centered around potential joint research initiatives, academic exchanges, and expanding technological partnerships between NIFS and the institutions they represent. The meeting underscored a shared commitment to advancing scientific and technological innovation through closer cooperation.

The collaboration aims to explore new opportunities in fundamental research, with an emphasis on leveraging expertise and resources to drive global innovation across multiple sectors. The visit marks an important step in deepening international ties and advancing technological research in both Sri Lanka and abroad.
