Ms. Sandani Wijenayake, a final year undergraduate student, who carried out her final year research work in the Food Chemistry Programme of NIFS was honored with the Gold Medal at the University’s Convocation held on 27 th July 2023. Ms. Sandani received this honor from the Vice Chancellor of the University for obtaining the highest score for the final year research project. Ms. Sandani’s research work indicated the prebiotic potential of coconut testa flour prepared from locally grown coconut cultivars. NIFS wishes to express its heartiest congratulations to Ms. Sandani Wijenayake for this outstanding achievement in research.
