Prof. Lalith Jayasinghe Delivers an Invited Lecture at the 2025 Alexander von Humboldt Kolleg in Nepal

Prof. Lalith Jayasinghe, Senior Research Professor at the National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS), participated in the Alexander von Humboldt Kolleg 2025 held in Kathmandu, Nepal, from 28th to 31st October 2025. The event was organized by the Alexander von Humboldt Club in Nepal under the theme “Antimicrobial Resistance: Challenges and Opportunities”. Prof. Jayasinghe delivered an invited lecture titled “Bioactive Compounds from Sri Lankan Plants and Endophytic fungi with Special Reference to Antifungals” His presentation highlighted Sri Lanka’s rich plant biodiversity and recent advances in discovering natural antifungal agents with potential applications. Kolleg brought together Alexander von Humboldt Fellows and leading researchers from around the world to exchange knowledge, foster scientific collaborations, and address pressing issues related to global health. Prof. Jayasinghe’s participation contributed to strengthening Sri Lanka’s scientific presence and promoting international research partnerships in the field of natural product chemistry.
