2025 ICSDMBR Conference – Successfully held in Colombo

The 2025 International Conference on Sustainable Development in Marine and Biological Resources (ICSDMBR) – Natural Products was jointly organized by the South China Sea Institute of Oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SCSIO, CAS), the National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS), and the University of Ruhuna, under the chairmanship of Professor Changsheng Zhang (SCSIO, CAS), Professor Lalith Jayasinghe (NIFS), and Professor Disna Rathnasekera (University of Ruhuna). The event took place at the elegant Marino Beach Hotel, Colombo.

The keynote session featured inspiring addresses from distinguished scientists, including Professor Iqbal Choudhary (Pakistan), Professor Saman Seneweera (Sri Lanka), Professor Veranja Karunaratne (Sri Lanka), Professor Zexin Deng (China), and Professor Jiang-Min Yue (China). The conference was truly international in scope, with participation from 35 delegates from China, 40 from Sri Lanka, 3 from Pakistan, 3 from India, 1 from Bangladesh, and 1 from Korea. A special highlight was the presence of our esteemed former teachers, Professor Vijaya Kumar and Professor Savitri Kumar, whose participation across both days added great significance and inspiration to the gathering.
