Environmental Remediation

  1. We use green methods to synthesise water stable Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) to address environmental issues such as decontamination of heavy metals from water and capture of toxic gases.

  2. Invasive aquatic weeds are used to recover phosphates from surface water bodies and effluents from animal farms to eventually process them into phosphate bio-fertilizers.

  3. Phytoremediation of textile dye is a common practice in developing countries. However, the fate of the textile dye within the plant is not well understood. Our research is aimed at determining the photodegradation mechanisms of these dyes in the plant.
