50th NIFS School Science Programme – Call for Applications

The National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS) is pleased to announce the 50th School Science Programme (SSP), a highly educational and esteemed programme for students who have successfully passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination with excellent results and intend to pursue studies in the science stream.

Programme Details

  • Dates: 02nd- 04th September 2026
  • Medium: English/Sinhala
  • Programme Includes: Lectures and demonstrations  

Eligibility

  • Passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in 2025 with Nine distinctions(9A) in the first attempt
  • Currently enrolled in the G.C.E. A/L science stream

Selection

  • 175 students will be selected for participation 

Application Procedure

  • Deadline for Submission: 10th August 2026
