Chandrika Tilakarathna is a Senior Assistant Librarian at the National Institute of Fundamental studies (NIFS). She has been working at the NIFS since 2000, and has earned her Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Kelaniya in 2000 and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the same university in 2014. Chandrika is a professional member of the Sri Lanka Library Association, National Geographic Society and Sri Lanka Science & Technology Information Network (SLSTINET). She also is a serving member of the advisory committee of the D.S. Senanayake Memorial Public Library, Kandy. Chandrika has been appointed the Information Officer for the Right to Information at the NIFS. She has over 18 years of professional experience in the area of Library and Information Science. Chandrika has conducted lectures to improve the reading habits of school children and has also introduced the Library System on request from interested parties. Her research interests include information seeking behaviors of library users and the use of scientific information.
