Unlock your future with DAAD

The Young Scientists’ Association (YSA) of the National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS) successfully organized an information session on "Unlock your future with DAAD" on 28th August 2025, aimed at supporting early-career researchers and postgraduate students in exploring international academic pathways.

The session was conducted by Ms. Nimaya Manudewa, DAAD Regional Officer– Sri Lanka, who provided a comprehensive overview of the German university and research landscape, highlighting key institutions, research environments, and opportunities available for international scholars. She also explained the various DAAD funding schemes and scholarship opportunities available for PhD candidates and early-career researchers, along with practical guidance on eligibility criteria and application procedures.

The event attracted over 50 participants, including research staff, research assistants, and postgraduate students from NIFS and other research institutions. The session concluded with an engaging interactive Q&A segment, during which participants had the opportunity to clarify their questions and gain further insights directly from the resource person. Overall, the programme served as a valuable platform for raising awareness about pursuing higher studies and research careers in Germany.
