A special awareness programme on oral cancer

A special awareness programme on oral cancer (one of the most prevalent forms of  cancer in Sri Lanka) and preventive measures was conducted by Prof. Ruwan Duminda Jayasinghe on 09.09.2020 at the National Institute of Fundamental Studies.  Prof. Ruwan Jayasinghe is currently working as the Chair Professor of Oral Medicine and Periodontology in the Dept. of Oral Medicine and Periodontology, Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya. In his lecture, he elaborated on causes of oral cancer giving a forceful message, emphasizing the  need to educate masses about the danger of tobacco and arecanut chewing and smoking.
