Research in Germany: Opportunities and challenges for young scientists
The Young Scientists Association (YSA) of the National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS) successfully organized a guest lecture titled “Research in Germany: Opportunities and challenges for young scientists”. The session was conducted by Mr. Julius Gläser, from the University of Göttingen, Germany.
During the lecture, Mr. Gläser shared valuable insights into his research in the field of neuroscience while also providing an overview of the higher education system, research culture, and academic opportunities available in Germany. He discussed pathways for young scientists to engage in international research, funding mechanisms, and the challenges and benefits of conducting research in a global academic environment.
The session attracted approximately 40 participants, including undergraduate and postgraduate students, research assistants, and scientists from NIFS. An interactive question-and-answer session at the end allowed participants to engage directly with the speaker and gain practical advice on pursuing research and higher education abroad. The lecture was highly informative and well-received, contributing meaningfully to the professional development of young scientists.
