Rasika Gunarathne : 1st runner-up in the SLAYS 3MT

Ms. Rasika Gunarathne, M.Phil. student of NIFS has won the 1st runner-up in the final round of SLAYS 3 Minute Thesis Competition 2021, organized by the Sri Lanka Academy of Young Scientists. She is a current Research Assistant in the Food Chemistry project of NIFS and she received her B.Sc. in Food Science and Technology from the University of Peradeniya.

The 3MT competition is a professional and highly engaging international research communication competition developed by the University of Queensland, and with its permission, SLAYS has been listed as one of the participating institutions for the conduction of this event. The competition was held on the 7th of November 2021 at the Senate Boardroom of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. It was held in two stages where the first round was held virtually with the participation of 50 contestants thereby 15 finalists were selected for the final physical round.
