Prof. Lalith Jayasinghe from the National Institute of Fundamental Studies was awarded the prestigious Dr. C.L. de Silva Gold Medal Award, by the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon. The awarding ceremony took place on 27th June 2021, during the Inauguration Ceremony of the 50th Annual Sessions and 80th Anniversary celebrations of the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon. The medal is awarded for outstanding research contribution in any branch of Chemical Sciences and/ or the use of such research for National Development during the last five (5) years in Sri Lanka. Prof. Jayasinghe is currently engaged in Natural Products Research Project at NIFS as the project leader. The National Institute of Fundamental Studies congratulates Prof. Lalith Jayasinghe on this honorable achievement.
