The National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS) is proud to announce that four of its scientists have been recognized among the world’s top 2% of scientists in 2025, according to the Elsevier–Stanford University citation analysis.

Recognized NIFS Scientists:

This recognition underscores the international impact of NIFS research and reflects the outstanding contributions of our scientists to advancing fundamental and applied science.

The 2025 dataset (Version 7), released in August 2025, is based on Scopus data updated to the end of 2024. It identifies the top 100,000 scientists worldwide (by c-score) or those ranked within the top 2% of their subfield.

We warmly congratulate Prof. Tennakone, Prof. Dissanayake, Prof. Banjamin and Prof. Seneviratne for this remarkable achievement, which brings pride to NIFS and Sri Lanka.
