Young Scientists' Conference on Multidisciplinary Research (YSCMR) 2021, the 3rd research conference, organized by the Young Scientists' Association of the National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS-YSA) is scheduled to be held on 21st October as an international virtual conference.

Postgraduate students and early career researchers are invited to submit abstracts before 16th August 2021 under the fields of Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, and Social Sciences. The submitted abstracts will be reviewed by a panel of expert reviewers. The authors of the selected abstracts will get the opportunity to present their research at the conference.

This valuable opportunity will be a stepping stone to achieve your aspirations as a young scientist and contribute to your field of research. Do not miss the opportunity to network and share your knowledge with the research community.

Guest Speaker

Professor Tom Welton OBE, CChem, FRSC, FCGI

Prof. Tom Welton (OBE, CChem, FRSC) is a Professor of Sustainable Chemistry at Imperial College London. He served as Head of the Department of Chemistry from 2007 to 2014 and as Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences from 2015 to 2019. He is a Fellow and the current President of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Professor Tom Welton is an expert in sustainable or green chemistry, which aims to make the chemicals and related industries both environmentally and economically sustainable.

He works with ionic liquids in order to develop sustainable solvent technologies. The central academic aim of his research is to understand how different chemical environments influence reaction processes, and to use this understanding to provide more effective chemical processes by the matching of the reaction with its optimum solvent environment.

Professor Tom is the author of over 140 papers, primarily on the structures and chemistry of ionic liquids and their solutes.
