Communication & Media Officer - Science Education and Dissemination Unit
Dhanushka Bandara graduated from Faculty of Science, University of Peradeniya in 2016 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Physics and Computer Science. He then joined the Ceylon Electricity Board as an Administrative Officer, and left the position in 2017 to pursue higher education goals. From 2017 to 2021, while working as an IT instructor at University of Peradeniya, Dhanushka completed his MSc in Physics of Materials as the Batch Top Student. At the same time, he completed his research project on “AgBr Nanoparticle synthesis and characterization” at Department of Physics, University of Peradeniya. During this time, he started the Website www.coeus.lk as a way of dissemination science among general public, and developed the corresponding android app as well.
Dhanushka has experience as a visiting lecturer at the Postgraduate Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Peradeniya and as a Visiting Demonstrator at Open University of Sri Lanka. With his immense passion for science communication, Dhanushka joined NIFS in 2021 as the Communication and Media officer.
